Liberals Keep on Wondering instead of educating themselves

An obvious liberal posted a comment to my previous post which I felt I would help educate that person on their "wondering". One who is educated on the difference between conservatives and liberals would know that conservatives believe in individual freedoms and that less government involves greater freedom. The fact they are wondering about my post shows a clear problem with our educational system. Liberals rely on the government to use force in confiscating a person’s wealth to give it to another out of "compassion". That is using the barrel of a gun as I refer to in my previous post. Conservatives on the other hand believe in donating time and money out of their own free will. Studies have shown that conservatives are far more compassionate in their giving of personal wealth. The difference between liberals and conservatives is liberals expect someone else to be compassionate for them through government while conservatives just do it themselves. This person who commented stated threat of military power has never been implied? What happens if I refuse to pay part of my taxes because I do not agree with Obama's anti-American policies? His redistribution of wealth is by force and unjust. What happens if Cap n trade goes through with jobs being lost, everyone's energy costs going up, and our freedoms assaulted (as energy helps us be free)? This is liberalism using the heavy hand of government to take away peoples freedoms. Of course we have the heavy hand of government used by liberals to impose an anti-American minimum wage which cause job loss at the lower part of the economic spectrum (the same people they pretend to be helping) and imposes the heavy hand of government on business not allowing buisness to choose what is best for it to grow and prosper (thus adding jobs). If liberals do not recognize true compassion and true freedom (as most liberals do not) there probably is not much I can do to help them but I can try if they open their mind to the truth. The problem with our economy is directly tied to liberal policies, either from easy money, encouraging people to buy homes they cannot afford, and spending too much on social programs (which government has no business spending on which a liberal would know if they read our Constitution). Bush had one thing right. That was tax cuts. The less we are taxed by government the less we are enslaved by government, which means great freedoms for all and greater prosperirty for all. Yes, Bush spent too much and was wrong for it but it is nothing compared to the hole “the Unqualified One” is digging, which is truly scary and dangerous. It is funny though how our economy was growing until Democrats took over Congress. It is laughable these typical liberals who blame it all on Bush, which is the uneducated, cop out fed by the liberal media. I suggest you read the Constitution and learn how our government truly works. I also suggest you take a look at how the economy continues to tank the more people learn of the policies "the unqualified One" and his fellow travelers wish to strangle this country.

How does dreaming big = conservatism?

There is only one way to achieve your dreams and that is to go after them with passion and make them reality. The bottom line is to achieve your big dreams you must take responsibility for your life and your actions. This is the essence of conservatism. Conservatism is the founding principle this country was built on, the ability to pursue ones dreams without interference from government and that all men are created equal to pursue their dreams, not guaranteed equal outcome in achieving their dreams.

Liberals tend to paint conservatives as greedy and uncaring to the needs of others, where that is the farthest from the truth. True greed is demanding from others either what you are not willing to do yourself or thinking you knew best how to utilize the fruits of another’s labor. There is a big different between working toward one’s own self interest and being selfish. A conservative who follows the principles of dreaming big looks within themselves to achieve greatness and understands as greatness is achieved their family and community will be taken care of along the way. It is because of their personal connection and interest in their family and community they will understand the best ways to help those they choose to pursue their dreams.  Liberals on the other hand believe taking from one to give to another, without any real connection to that person or that’s person’s interest is the best way to go about helping people. This is an elitist, selfish way toward their brand of compassion and is actually counterproductive.

Conservatives understand it does take a community to raise a child, but that community begins at home with a mother and father who take an interest in their child’s life. From two parents the community enlarges to extended family, and friends not some government bureaucracy who has little interest in the child itself. A government bureaucracy to a liberal is just a way to feeling good. They spent money on something, an action was taken toward what gives them a good feeling but the personal caring and involvement is missing. Of course a liberal will say everyone does not have family or friends to take an interest in a child’s life so government is needed. It is through their policies they promote this problem. If someone knows they can have children without any family or community involvement they are left begging for government handouts. Instead of promoting policies, which encourage community and responsibility, liberals promote policies that promote lack of community and irresponsibility.

Achieving big dreams are about individual freedoms and personal responsibility. Yes, sometimes people need assistance to get on the right track and require guidance. I encourage everyone to be a mentor to a child through such a program as Big Brothers and Big Sisters. I encourage people to get involved in their local communities and give assistance to those in need and guidance. These should be individual choices by those who are grounded in their own lives and are reaching their own dreams or have achieved them. Asking others to do what you are not willing to do on your own is the type of laziness that interferes with achieving big dreams and is counter to the fundamental principles, which founded our great country. This weakens our country by encouraging a sense of entitlement to its people and discourages true greatness which comes from big dreams.

Perception vs. reality

It is often said that perception is reality but a perception that covers up a false reality can only last for so long before true reality peeks through. This can be said for the current administration, the administration of the “Unqualified One”. He was perceived as a man that will bring change.  Change to what was never truly answered. His nice smile and suave words gave a perception of intelligence and of a man who was a true leader that connected with the masses. We see now he is incapable of intelligent words without a teleprompter. Who is this man who was elected to the greatest office in the world, the office of the U.S. President? Some of us said during the election we did not know, and although we still do not, what we are discovering is not a pretty sight.

Perception can often be made up of many different realities. If I were to ask someone of what they knew of the Ukraine they may say not much or they may think of the Soviet Union, or of what they may have read in a book. Of course the Soviet Union is no more. Today I sit in downtown Kiev enjoying its great beauty, with the sun shining and historic architecture around me. With one look I shall perceive great beauty in this modern, but historic city. The people are dressed fashionably; amongst the historic architecture one finds modern video advertisements and modern shops. As one looks deeper though, as with any modern city there is poverty. One observes the old woman begging for money or the young lady with child in tow asking strangers for help. To find a true reality in this lovely city one must look deeper then ones initial perceptions but exposed long enough one cannot avoid reality, some of which is lovely and beautiful and some of which is harsh. For me Kiev is a city that is lovely to admire on the surface but based on reality I would not want to live. v

Looking at the Obama administration and comparing it to my description of Kiev above one wonders how ones perception of his administration compares with its reality. We perceive a nice smile, kind words and a promise to fix everything that was supposedly wrong caused by the previous administration. As we find out a nice smile is just that, a nice smile. It does not lead to a reality of governing, especially from one who never governed. We perceive kind words but these words come from a teleprompter, not truly from the heart, and often are contradicted by his actions. Obama speaks of fiscal responsibility but signs a bill that spends more then all administrations in U.S. history combined.  He speaks a leftist agenda on the war on terror but as reality sets in for him he about-faces and asks for more troops in Afghanistan and keeping pictures of alleged prisoner abuse from the public eye (even though he was once in favor of publishing them for public viewing).

The perception of Obama was always that,. just a perception.  Many of us could say we told you so, and we will. A public that voted for a man who never governed and whose brief legislative history showed a glimpse of a true reality should really be the ones who are ashamed of voting in such incompetence into the Oval Office. Anyone who takes on the responsibility of voting for an elected official should look beyond the initial perceptions that official presents and demand answers that would uncover a truer reality. The liberal media never showed interest in such questions or answers to such questions and the general public never demanded the liberal media uncover the reality of Obama. As this reality is uncovered now it is too late and our great nation must suffer the consequences of its laziness and naivety.

Liberalism and False Compassion

Why do conservatives allow liberals to get away with painting conservatives as hate-mongers, who are uncaring and uncompassionate when by their very own actions liberals show hate and a lack of understanding of what is true compassion? How is it logical that anyone could believe it is compassionate to by force take the income of one person and funnel it to the Federal Government, who then funnels it back to a different part of the country that some politician believes is worthy of “societies” compassion? Whether it is a king, a dictator or a group of elected officials how is this unjust redistribution of wealth any different? The answer it is not!

True compassion comes from the heart and not the barrel of a gun. True compassion takes effort on the individual to determine a worthy cause for his or her kindness. A society that teaches its citizens to seek out those in need, through charities or individual giving, is a truly compassionate society. It is proven time and time again that conservatives are more compassionate through the number of dollars they give to charities vs. so called compassionate liberals. The problem with liberals is they want someone else to take ownership of compassion. If a liberal can pass a law that forces their brand of compassion upon society they feel good. If conservatives take it upon themselves to help another person they feel good. Tell me, which one is truly compassionate?

On can look at the current administration to see how back words and uncompassionate liberalism is in action. The current administration is determined to hurt charitable giving through its tax policy. The current administration is showing it’s egotistic, elitism by stealing from one group of citizens to give to those it feels more worthy. No, liberalism practices a false compassion, which leads to a less efficient way to help others and teaches laziness to citizens so they fail to put real compassion into practice.

Greetings and thank you for reading

May 18, 2009

Here I sit in downtown Kiev (yes the Ukraine) reflecting on my dreams and starting this blog. First, let me say thank you for all who read and I welcome comments and suggestions from those who are far more experienced then myself in the blogosphere. For me it is easy to get caught up in daily life when I am at home so a nice vacation far away is a great way to recharge my batteries, refocus like a laser on my dreams, and reflect with appreciation on all I have achieved in my life.

Despite the economic and constitutional terrorist in the White House, I live in the greatest nation on this green earth with opportunities for success and happiness of which our ancestors could only dream. Yes, our ancestors would marvel at how we live today but there are also many in the world that envy and desire to be like us. Despite the hate of this nation that comes from the left (witness the unqualified one’s apology tour not too long ago), the number of legal and illegal immigrants that knock on our door every year (well illegals break down the door) continue to prove we are a country many in this world believe is the place where their dreams too can be fulfilled.

Today the sun is out in Kiev and shortly I will be out admiring the great beauty of this city. If you ever get the chance I recommend visiting the Ukraine as it is quite a lovely country, with wonderful food, history, and yes (for the men) lovely women. I encourage all to travel and see the world as the beauty and wonders found in other countries help put in perspective the beauty and wonders found at home, along with a stronger appreciation of all we enjoy in the greatest nation on this green earth.
